How do I care for my new cowhide?

A real cowhide requires very little care and if you want to most effectively preserve its original condition, you should just follow these three instructions. The most important thing is to shake your cowhide regularly, which will remove dust and loose dirt. Given the size of a cowhide, this is of course much better done with two people.

You can get rid of stubborn dirt by carefully vacuuming the cowhide on the lowest setting. If the dirt is stuck, you can dab it off with a damp cloth. Make sure that the underside of the leather remains dry. Then let the cowhide dry thoroughly before putting it back in its place.

Make sure to place the cowhide in a slightly different position after shaking it out. This will prevent pressure marks on the hide. It is not a problem if you place a side table or armchair on the hide, for example. However, make sure that the hide is turned regularly or the furniture is moved slightly to prevent permanent pressure marks.
